When I was a child, every Dragon Boat Festival, the adults in the village were busy going to the bamboo forest to pick up the shells of bamboo shoots and come back to make zongzi.

Liziqi still remembers the sweetness of bamboo shoot shells mixed with the softness of glutinous rice, and the zongzi wrapped with it still have a slight alkaline fragrance. When you eat it, dip it in white sugar or pour a spoonful of hot brown sugar juice. This is Liziqi‘s most profound taste bud memory about the Dragon Boat Festival.

This time I made the very traditional bamboo-shell zongzi from our side. Mix a little soda in the glutinous rice, don’t put anything else, just wrap it with bamboo shoots. Then cook it and it’s done. Don’t forget to dip in white sugar or drizzle with brown sugar when eating, it’s delicious. See the video for details.

Thanks for reading. Liziqi wishes you a happy life.
